"If Pappu Can't Dance..."

"..., Mommy, he really needs to join a dance class so someone can teach him," said Raina this afternoon, while listening to the song. A few days ago, she wanted to know what "saala" meant. That was a hard one. "It's just an exclamation, baby, like oh my gosh," I said, lying through my teeth.
Somehow she's not convinced.

Well tried! Do tell if she has any "oh gosh" moments after this! :)

As for asking Pappu to join a dance class...brilliant observation and one that can only come from the mouths of babes!

Hehehehe, EL and Mamma Mia! I hadn't thought about that!

Trust her to come up with that one! I want to read more Raina-isms on a regular basis!

:) She is a funny one. A very logical mind.

Yeah, well - I told my kids that ! And now my kids sing the song (they quite like it) and go "Saala" nice and loud. And then they look at my face and ask me why I look like I'm in pain :-)

Amodini, Raina just began saying "saala" with as much gusto as the rest of the words. Makes me wince too.

here's a song, in raina's honour!

- s.b.

p.s.: why don't you give her the 100% true (and simple) explanation - brother-in-law? :-)

s.b., thanks for the song :) and i don't want to give her the true explanation because then i'd have to spend the next half-hour explaining why pappu is the brother-in-law of a whole bunch of people. and at the end of the half-hour she'll still have more questions :)

LOL! This girl is really observant. Dance classes indeed!

I had that discussion with S too - what does Saala mean? Of course I told her everything (brother-in-law AND a cuss word) but she is old enough for that.

GTN, she is indeed! Now wait till your youngest asks you...

Then I'll come to you for tips :P

EL, I'll get to it, I promise. Am feeling a bit braindead these days.

My girls thought Saala is like another name like Pappu, I have yet to correct them on that.

I should've tried that, Asaaan! That's a good one!
